Elma High School Announcements

  • Attention Seniors—There will be Prom Committee meeting Friday morning at 8:00 in room 224.  Anyone interested in selecting the three prom designs for the class to vote on should attend.  See Ms. Woita for more information.

  • Attention juniors and seniors with a cumulative (which means over the course of the last 2 to 3 years of high school) GPA of 3.2 or better. The application window for the EHS Chapter of The National High School Honor Society is now open. Please submit your current resumes.

    • Applicants should know that faculty members evaluate applicants and may veto applicants who have demonstrated a lack of integrity. It is, after all called Honor Society.

    • Resumes must cover your: scholarship, leadership, extra and co- curricular activities, and community service. Please tailor your résumé to this purpose. Sample resumes are posted in Annex 4, Ms. Aukland’s classroom, if you would like to see some appropriate models. The submission deadline is Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 4:00 PM. You must place your completed and correct resume in the red file folder in Ms. Aukland’s room. No exceptions and no kidding.   

  • Attention all students interested in traveling to London and Paris in June 2011. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday Feb. 9th from 6-7pm in Ms. Woita’s room. We will be discussing money deadlines, fundraising ideas, answering common questions and going over the trip itinerary. Please see Ms. Searle if you or your parent/guardian can NOT attend.

  • Please register with Mary Jane for Spring Traffic Safety Classes. The cost is $370.00.It is possible to make three time payments. $150.00 to register, $120.00 at mid session, and the remaining $100.00 before students are allowed to take their final exam. There will be a mandatory Parent/student meeting on Wednesday February 17h at 7:00 PM in the High School Library. The first day of class will be Thursday 18th at 3:30 PM in room 222. The session will last nine weeks. Classes will usually be held on Mondays and Wednesdays.  For additional information please contact Mr. Parkin at 482-2632 EX 477

  • Seniors:  Need help with scholarships?  Join volunteer teachers for SCHOLARSHIP 101 on Monday’s, Feb. 8, 22, and March 1st from 3-4 PM in EHS Library.  Teachers will assist with reviewing, editing, and providing pointers on successful scholarship applications.

  • Congratulations to Winter Drill team for qualifying to Districts!!!

  • Students and Staff, Are you looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for that special someone or even your friends?  Look no further than our very own Advanced Horticulture class. A variety of floral options are available to order.  A table will be set up in the commons with order forms and examples during lunch from February 1st – February 12th.  Prices are outstanding starting at just one dollar.  Deliveries will be made on Friday, February 12th during 6th period. This Valentines Day sale will also include our special item: the Val-O-Gram. This item is only one dollar. It includes a carnation flower with the color of your choice and a personal note. Buy them for all your friends and your significant other. You may also buy several different items such as, balloons and roses.

 

  • Before you buy -- please review the PROM DRESS STANDARDS for EHS. It would be disappointing to find out you've purchased a dress that you can't wear!

  • Summer “Fire” Job Opportunities – The Department of Natural Resources is currently recruiting for Forest Fire Crew Members and Natural Resource Workers for the 2010 summer season. Students must be 18, preparing to graduate. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated students interested in strenuous outdoor employment. The counselors have more information.

  • Emergency Information: Any and all Emergency closure information will be available through FlashAlert. Closures, Late Starts, and other Emergency Communication is available.
