About Mr. Kersting

ABOUT: I am originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin. I am a Packers fan and I bleed green.
My family moved to Florida when I was a teen and I learned to love diving. I have swam with dolphins, sharks and turtles in Florida, Hawaii, Mexico and Thailand.

I have a 21 year old son. He is a sound Engineer who graduated from Bates in running start. We lived a year in Korea where I taught English.

I love Teaching because I learn so much from my fellow staff, students and about the world. I am grateful every day for the chance to enjoy good music, food, running miles at a time and laughing.

I’ve travelled all over Asia including Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam and speak several of those languages. I spent a year in Korea to teach and come back with tons of money for Grad school. I love the rural, quiet character of Elma and the strong sense of community.
