Sean Ekerson
History
About the Teacher
Mr. Ekerson, or " Ek " as his students have endeared him, Is himself a graduate of our highschool, Class of '93. He recieved his Associate's Degree from Lower Columbia College in 1995, his Bachelor's Degree from Washington State University in 1999, and his Master's from City University in 2004. During his time in Lower Columbia College, Ekerson wrestled for them from 1993-1995. He got his first teaching job at Wishkah and was the wrestling coach at Aberdeen Highschool from 2000-2005. After his job there he came back to Elma and got a job in Elma High School as a history teacher, we've been lucky to have him ever since. In the school year of 2009-2010 Ek went through all of the hassle to get a holocaust survivor to come and talk to the student body, which is very amazing because it will be one of the last chances people will get to hear a survivor's story. Ekerson has also brought back some good old Elma Eagle tradition and PRIDE by bringing back the Rooter's Roost to support the Eagles in their sports!
Mr. Ekerson is married to a former Elma graduate, Greene, and has three children. His eldest child is Mattilyn, 8 years, his second eldest is Ty, 6 years, and the youngest is Cole, 5 years.
